Harris County Public Health and the Houston Health Department have released exact case counts per ZIP code, showing the Clear Lake area has about a third of the number of coronavirus cases as League City.
As of 4 p.m. April 21, the Clear Lake area—which includes the ZIP codes 77058, 77059, 77062 and 77598—has a total of 47 cases of COVID-19, according to Harris County Public Health. Meanwhile, League City has a total of 150 cases, according to the Galveston County Health District.
ZIP code 77058, which touches Clear Lake and includes Nassau Bay, has 12 cases. ZIP code 77059 and 77062, both of which are more north, have 11 cases and 12 cases, respectively. ZIP code 77598, which includes Webster, has 21 cases, according to Harris County Public Health.
League City had outbreaks at two nursing homes, accounting for at least 44 of League City's 150 cases. The two nursing homes are The Cottages at Clear Lake and Regent Care Center of League City, according to Galveston County Health District.
In Harris County, including Houston, there are 5,143 total cases of the coronavirus. Of those, 3,804 are active, 1,260 have recovered, and 79 have died, according to Harris County Public Health.
The southeast quadrant of Harris County has the fewest total cases at 583. The southwest quadrant has 1,885, the northwest has 1,647, and the northeast has 950. It is unknown where 78 cases in the county reside, according to the county.
In all, Galveston County has seen 479 cases of COVID-19. Of those, 243 are active, 216 have recovered, and 20 have died, according to the Galveston County Health District.
Of the 243 active cases, 30 are hospitalized, and 213 are self-quarantined. Of the 216 recoveries, at least 35 were hospitalized, according to the health district.
League City and Texas City have the most cases of any cities in Galveston County, both at 150. The Resort at Texas City, a nursing home, had an outbreak accounting for 81 of Texas City's cases, according to the district.
The next-highest case count in Galveston County is 38 in Galveston.
