As live music floats through the air, patrons of Landshark Bar & Grill sit back and relax at Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake Conroe’s signature restaurant, enjoying delicious food and a beautiful view of the lake.

Similar to St. Somewhere Spa, this restaurant is open to the public—not just resort guests—and is one of seven other restaurants and bars located on the property.

“One of my favorite things about Landshark is that it’s right on the water. It's got some beautiful lakefront dining, which is particularly nice in the spring and fall when the weather is pleasant,” director of marketing Rachel Horgan said. “We find that a lot of people also like to take their boats to Landshark, as we have a bunch of docks right behind the restaurant. You can literally just pull up on your boat, get off, and then grab a bite to eat with us.”

What makes Landshark Bar & Grill the signature Margaritaville restaurant? Horgan said it comes down to two things. The first is that because the restaurant is a well known and loved Margaritaville brand, peppered all throughout the nation in different states, it has become an iconic landmark connected to the resort.

The second is the delicious Flora-Caribbean cuisine served with a Texas twist. Menu items include everything from salads to burgers to sandwiches, plus appetizers like nachos, fried pickles and shrimp ceviche.

“Landshark Bar & Grill has a fun, laid back atmosphere. It's a place that you can go if you just want to have a good time and hang out with friends or family. It's just a very welcoming kind of restaurant,” director of restaurants Erika de la Cruz said.

Signature dishes at the restaurant include the Mahi Mahi tacos, topped with a Sriracha mayo, and the Hawaiian Luau burger, which stacks two beef patties, smoked bacon, grilled pineapple, mango teriyaki sauce, lettuce and tomato on a soft bun.

As far as drinks go, this is Margaritaville after all, and what trip would be complete without the Perfect Margarita? The drink contains Margaritaville’s signature Gold and Silver Tequila, Margaritaville Triple Sec, orange Curaçao and lime juice served on the rocks, and according to the menu is for “margarita aficionados only.” If diners are not in the market for a margarita, de la Cruz also recommends a Tranquil Waters, which has Cruzan Mango Rum, blue Curaçao, pineapple juice and mango.

Seating at the restaurant is first come, first serve and members of the resort can enjoy 20% off at all the dining establishments. For diners who come during peak hours, there is an outdoor beach area where guests can sip drinks while waiting and order food right to their shaded palapa.

Landshark also loves their locals. For those who live in the nearby Lake Conroe and northern Houston metro area, they can receive 20% off food and non-alcoholic beverages when they show their drivers license.

Landshark Bar & Grill offers unique happy hours Monday through Thursday with live music every Friday and Saturday evening. In the summertime, live music performances happen every night of the week to entertain guests as they dine. The restaurant also has 14 large flatscreen TVs for guests to watch whatever popular sporting event is happening that day.

“Inspired by the traditional beach bars of the Atlantic Coast, LandShark Bar & Grill offers an intoxicating mix of fantastic food, signature drinks and laid-back fun,” de la Cruz said. “Soak up the warm sun and cool breeze on the waterfront deck, stick your toes in the sand on the beach, kick back in an Adirondack chair around the fire pit and take in panoramic views of Lake Conroe.”
