Texas Craft Beer Club operators and residents of The Woodlands, Rob Banzhaf and Marc Atnipp scour the state for various locally produced beers to send to 250 members, and counting.
The beer enthusiasts began selling memberships at The Woodlands Junior League Holiday Market in 2015, and they sent out their first shipment in January.
“Anytime I would travel anywhere around the country or the state … at any restaurant, I would always try to get something local,” Banzhaf said. “I want to try something I can’t get in Houston [or] I can’t go to the store and buy down the street.”
Popular package options include $50 monthly memberships that beer fans buy for themselves as well as gift pack memberships for a friend or family member.
“The concept was to be able to provide Texans with Texas craft beer from Texas breweries that they can’t typically get in their local stores,” Banzhaf said. “If [members] get something they like … they can reorder that specific beer or specific flavor they liked from us.”
Each month, a dozen 12-ounce craft beers from two featured breweries are delivered to members’ doors. Each delivery includes three bottles or cans of four types of beer ranging from light India pale ales to rich stouts.
