The Woodlands Diversion, a fine arts and culture nonprofit organization founded in 2023, has outlined its 2026-27 schedule of live performances of classical music by composers from the past in addition to pieces by living composers. Styles include classical music, jazz, Latin, Motown, theater and more.
What to expect
The season is projected to run until May across five shows culminating in “Letters to Mom,” an original stage production featuring live chamber music.
American Ecstasies
Trio Duende, the trio made up of flutist Tyler Martin, cellist Caio Alves Diniz and pianist James Palmer, will play a fusion of modern, classical, Latin and jazz music by modern composers.
LAZOS
Special guests join The Woodlands Diversion musicians in a performance of Latin American classical, folk, pop and jazz.
Wintertide
Two performances feature holiday and classical music from Vivaldi, Corelli and Bach.
Motown & Mozart
The Woodlands Diversion seeks to highlight the commonalities between Mozart and the American style of Motown by playing them side-by-side.
Letters to Mom
"Letters to Mom," the season closer, is an original piece that combines stagework and original music.
