With all precincts reporting, unofficial election results show Grapevine voters approving a 20-year extension of a sales tax dedication for the Crime Control and Prevention District.
Voters cast 5,225 votes, 87.42%, in support of the extension, while 752 votes, 12.58%, were cast against the measure.

All election results are unofficial until canvassed. In Tarrant County, there were 91,087 ballots cast countywide, which is 6.9% of the county's 1.32 million registered voters.

With 151 of 158 precincts reporting, voters continue to support extending a sales tax dedication for Grapevine's Crime Control and Prevention District.
There are 5,225 votes, 87.42%, in support of the 20-year extension, while 752 ballots, 12.58%, were cast in opposition of the measure.

Early voting results from Tarrant County show that a majority of Grapevine voters support extending a sales tax dedication to the city’s Crime Control and Prevention District.
The details
Grapevine receives 2% of the state’s 8.25% sales tax. Of that, 0.5% is allocated toward the district, which helps cover various police department costs, including uniforms, jail operations, dispatch and the criminal investigations division.
There are 4,040 votes, or 88.31%, in support of the 20-year extension. In opposition of the extension, there are 535 votes, or 11.69%.
Grapevine originally approved the sales tax dedication for the Crime Control and Prevention District in 2006 before voters reapproved it for a further 15 years in 2011. Had the extension on the May ballot not been approved, the sales tax revenues would have gone into the city’s general fund.

During early voting, there were 59,963 ballots cast in person across Tarrant County, representing 4.54% of the county’s registered voters.
