Southlake Town Square will transform into an art festival grounds between April 24-26.
The 26th Annual Art in the Square, a fundraiser for the Southlake Women’s Club, will feature more than 150 artists, according to the nonprofit’s website.
During the April 7 Southlake City Council meeting, council member Kathy Talley said the organization has raised more than $3.6 million for charities in northeast Tarrant County since 2000.
She added that more than 1,000 artists apply to be part of the art festival, which showcases mixed media, sculptures, and paintings. This year’s featured list includes artists from Colorado, Minnesota, Georgia, Kansas, Tennessee, Florida and two from Texas.
What to expect
There will be live entertainment on two stages, one at the gazebo near Southlake Boulevard and on State Street, between Soma and the soon-to-be-open Crate & Barrel.
Country artist Justin Mason, a Grapevine resident, is the headliner on April 25, according to the festival website.
Other musical events on the Main Stage will be DJ Mike Barbee; jazz band Vintage Perspective; classic rock band Granade Webb Band; country artist Jack Blocker; Escape, a Journey tribute band; and Spicy Violin, a classical act.
Dana’s Dance Studio, Fred Astaire Dance Studio, Dance Axiom, Newlook Performing Arts Center, Southlake Community Band, North Texas Dance Academy, Carroll ISD Jazz Band, DFW Music Academy and the Mike Scoma Jazz Band will all be on the Gazebo Stage.
What else?
There are a few new changes or tweaks from last year’s event. Here’s a rundown:
- The Kids Zone had been relocated to Prospect Street. The area will have bounce houses, bungee jumps, rock-climbing walls and other games.
- The city will give away 200 saplings as part of the city’s 70th anniversary initiative to plant 2,026 trees in 2026.
- Frezko Taco Spot is one of the new dining vendors this year. The restaurant has two locations in Fort Worth and another in Bedford.
