Q&A: Meet the Candidates running for House District 64

Why are you running for office?

Texas is at one of the most critical crossroads it’s been at in decades. We can’t afford groceries, gas, utilities [or] taxes. At the same time, we rank lowest in schools, graduation rates and funding per child. Highest in foreclosures and taxes. We need real change.

What are the biggest challenges facing the district?

We are having trouble paying for our taxes, our hospital bills, our groceries. We are driving further away for quality medical care. Farms are closing because of large agriculture. People are working multiple jobs and can’t get ahead. Rent is increased yearly and young people can’t afford their own home.

What would your top priorities be if you are elected?

We need to put money into our public schools, local hospitals and water supply retention efforts. We need alternate forms of energy to reduce the load on the power grid. We need to raise the minimum wage and halt rent increases. Billionaires [are] lining their pockets while we suffer.

How will you ensure your constituents receive the resources they need in a redrawn congressional district?

One of the most important things to remember is you represent everyone in your district. Not just the people that voted for you. Reaching across the aisle to work together to make sure everyone is not just living, but thriving. Hearing every voice, making every voice count.

Why are you running for office?

I believe government should be limited, accountable and committed to protecting our God-given rights and freedoms. Public office is not a position of power but one of service to the people. I am running to serve the families of HD 64, defend our liberty and be your voice in Austin.

What are the biggest challenges facing the district?

High taxes and overall affordability, the development of new water sources and the strain on our existing infrastructure of rapid and expansive development throughout the district.

What would your top priorities be if you are elected?

Eliminating property taxes, securing our southern border, defending Texas sovereignty, protecting unborn children, election integrity, securing energy independence and securing Texas from hostile foreign influence. I will fight to protect Texas families and ensure our state remains a place where Texans can thrive.

How will you ensure your constituents receive the resources they need in a redrawn congressional district?

My office is accessible and responsive to every constituent. We answer emails and phone calls, return messages and work directly with constituents who need assistance. When an issue requires external sources, we make every effort to connect constituents with the help and services they need.
