Developer Land Tejas has opened an information center for residents interested in learning more about the business’s 2,000-acre Lago Mar development and its 12-acre Crystal Lagoon and surrounding 70-acre entertainment district, according to an April 2 press release. The information center at 3240 Lago Mar Blvd., Texas City, will be open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. “The information center is where visitors can get more details and updates on the Lago Mar lagoon, which will be the first of its kind to combine private residential beaches with retail and daily-fee access,” said Tim Johnson, Land Tejas director of community sales and marketing, in the release. Phase 1 of the lagoon is expected to open in early 2020 for Lago Mar residents. It will feature white sand beaches and a clubhouse. Future phases will provide public access to multiple beaches, a floating obstacle course, a swim-up bar, a two-story building to host events and more, the release reads. The Lago Mar Crystal Lagoon will be Land Tejas’ second; the developer included a 2-acre Crystal Lagoon in its Balmoral development in northeast Houston. Lago Mar will include more than 4,000 homes once fully built out along I-45 in Texas City about halfway between Houston and Galveston. An outlet mall and Buc-ee’s are already built, and construction of an amusement park is in progress. Find more information at www.lagomarintexascity.com.
