1. Plano Parkway-Preston Road intersection Traffic disruptions intensified in October at the intersection of Plano Parkway and Preston Road as crews closed lanes and worked to widen Preston Road near the major intersection. Eastbound traffic on Plano Parkway is expected to switch over onto newly constructed lanes sometime in January, which is expected to streamline traffic. The city’s engineering department expects lane closures on Preston Road to last through March as crews continue to work on that stretch of road. The most intensive work is expected to take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on weekdays. Timeline: December 2017-April 2019 Cost: $5 million Funding source: city, state and federal sources 2. Ohio Drive-McDermott Road intersection project The city expects crews to begin work in January on a project to add turn lanes and pedestrian-related enhancements to the intersection of Ohio Drive and McDermott Road in Plano. When the project is completed the intersection will feature dual left-turn lanes on northbound and southbound Ohio, as well as dedicated right-turn lanes on northbound Ohio and westbound McDermott. Most work is expected to take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on weekdays. Timeline: January 2019-unknown Cost: $850,000 Funding source: city of Plano 3. Legacy Drive repairs Crews are expected to continue repairing pavement and sidewalks in January along an eastern portion of Legacy Drive from Alma Road to Chase Oaks Boulevard. They were expected to work on eastbound and westbound lanes. The total project was initially expected to last about nine months and stretch from Custer Road to K Avenue. One lane will remain closed at all times  with an additional lane closed from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on weekdays. Timeline: February 2018-February 2019 Cost: $2.3 million Funding source: city of Plano 4. Spring Creek Parkway repairs Crews were expected to move in January to a stretch of Spring Creek Parkway from Alma Road to Blue Ridge Trail for pavement repairs. One lane will remain closed at all times in construction areas with an additional lane closed from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on weekdays. Timeline: January-March Cost: $150,000 Funding source: city of Plano 5. Park Boulevard repairs The city is conducting a series of road surface repairs along Park Boulevard from K Avenue and P Avenue. The project will include the eastbound and westbound lanes.
