Local networking group Moms Out Marketing is hosting a donation drive for Dallas tornado victims.

Winds from the tornado that traveled through the North Dallas area reached 140 miles per hour. In Richardson alone, 266 properties sustained major or minor damage, while 12 were completely destroyed.

Donations accepted through the drive will eventually be brought to Network of Community Ministries, a Richardson-based nonprofit that provides food, clothing and other resources to Richardson ISD residents.

Items needed fall into three categories.

Kitchen

  • Dishes (sets of four or six)

  • Pots and pans

  • Potholders

  • Silverware

  • Spatulas

Bathroom/bedding

  • Bath towels

  • New pillows

  • Blankets

  • Bed sheets

Winter clothing

  • Coats

  • Warm clothing for men and teens

  • Shoes for men and women

  • New underwear, bras and socks

Donations can be dropped off at various businesses across the northern DFW area from now until Dec. 31. See the map above for locations and site-specific deals.

The group will meet at Network's headquarters in Richardson on Dec. 11 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. to organize and sort donations. Volunteers will receive a free meal from Kuai Asian Kitchen. Those wishing to participate can find more information at www.facebook.com/momsoutmarketing.
