Tornado victims invited to free storm recovery classes at Richland College on Nov. 9, 16

Community members affected by the Oct. 20 tornado are invited to attend tuition-free classes on storm recovery at Richland College in Richardson.

The classes will be held from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 9 and 16 in Sabine Hall, Room SH 118. Attendees can register for single sessions, multiple sessions, a half day or a full day.

Nov. 9 sessions include:

8-9 a.m. DIY Home Repairs After a Tornado

9:10-10:10 a.m. Protect Yourself After the Storm


10:20-11:20 a.m. Community Resources in a Time of Crisis

11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Basic Home Safety

12:30-1:30 p.m. Lunch

1:30-2:30 p.m. Disaster Planning for Small Business

2:40-3:40 p.m. Navigating the Insurance Process

3:50-4:50 p.m. Emotional Support After a Natural Disaster

Nov. 16 sessions include:

10:20-11:20 a.m. Disaster Planning for Small Business

11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Basic Home Safety
