Construction is set to begin on segment two of the Custer Parkway improvement project in Richardson, according to the city's website.

The details

The second segment of construction stretches from Canyon Creek to Lookout Drive and consists of waterline, sanitary swerve and storm drain installations, followed by pavement replacements.

Because of the construction, all traffic will be shifted to the northbound lanes with one lane open in each direction. Additionally, vehicles will be prohibited from parking on the street, and trash and recycle services should not be impacted.

The Custer Parkway improvement project consists of reconstruction of Custer Parkway from Campbell Road to President George Bush Turnpike and will be completed in four segments. segment one, encompassing Campbell Road to Canyon Creek Drive, began construction in November. The full project is expected to cost $21.1 million and, according to city documents, will be funded by the 2021 bond, certificates of obligation and the city's water and sewer fund.
