Construction crews will focus on repairing various segments of Parker Road ahead of the project’s completion next year, according to an update from the city of Plano.

Repairs along the outer lanes of West Parker Road between Country Place Drive and Independence Parkway will take place as crews prepare to apply an asphalt overlay next summer. Other projects along the roadway include intersection improvements at the road’s intersections with Coit Road and Alma Drive, according to the city’s website.

The overview

As needed, concrete panels along portions of Parker Road will be replaced in the outside travel lanes. To allow for the construction that began in late August, up to two lanes may be closed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays.

The inner lanes of the road were addressed during the water line replacement project that concluded this summer, per the construction update.

Additionally, an asphalt overlay along East Parker Road running through Plano’s eastern boundary has been applied to turn lanes and crossovers.

What’s next?

The asphalt overlay along East Parker Road is expected to be completed this fall.

Construction on West Parker Road between Country Place Drive and Independence Parkway is expected to wrap up in late 2024. An asphalt overlay will be applied to that stretch of road next summer.
