The meeting for Plano's portion of the project will be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 8, while the meeting on Richardson's portion will be at 6 p.m. Feb. 9.
During the meetings, which will be held via Zoom, representatives from DART and contractor Archer Western Herzog will outline the latest design and construction developments and receive community feedback. Presentations scheduled to be delivered during the meeting include updates on design, the hike and bike trail, construction and more.
The 26-mile Silver Line is expected to be completed in 2024 and extends between Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Shiloh Road in Plano. It will also cross through the cities of Grapevine, Coppell, Dallas, Carrollton, Addison, Richardson and Plano. According to the DART website, the Silver Line project's primary purpose is to provide passenger rail connections and service that will improve mobility, accessibility and system linkages to major employment, population and activity centers in the northern part of the DART service area.
The Silver Line project will also intersect with the Red/Orange lines in Richardson and Plano, the Green Line in Carrollton and the Orange Line at DFW Airport, according to DART's website.
