The University of Texas at Dallas opened a new U.S. Passport Center on the third floor of the Student Services Building at 780 Franklyn Jenifer Drive, Ste. 762.

According to UT Dallas officials, the center processes passport applications not only for students, staff and faculty, but also for members of the public who live in Richardson or anywhere in the North Texas area. Passport services will not be available during university holidays or closures.

Individuals must schedule appointments in advance for all passport services.

UT Dallas Passport Services can take passport, immigration and visa photos. According to the UT Dallas website, those who attend are expected to arrive prepared with the specific requirements needed, which should be available on the country’s consulate or embassy website.

UT Dallas officials said appointments are available up to two weeks at a time on Mondays-Thursdays.

People can register individual passport applications or for families. Individual passport applications are 30-minute appointments and can include up to two family members. A family application is an hourlong appointment for three or more family members who are applying for new passports. This includes taking passport photos if needed.

In addition, community members can walk in for a 15-minute appointment to take visa/passport photos. Walk-ins are available on weekdays.
