The city of Richardson announced earlier in June that it was changing the hours of its Heights and Huffhines recreation centers for the summer. Both recreation centers are now open 6 a.m.-10 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays, 6 a.m.-9 p.m. on Fridays, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sundays.

City officials said the change returns both recreation centers to the hours at which they operated before the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Heights Recreation Center, which is located at 711 W. Arapaho Road, Richardson, offers a regulation-sized basketball court, a dedicated game room, a fitness area, a preschool room and an aerobics studio. The Huffhines Recreation Center features a gymnasium, an outdoor play area, strength training equipment, a preschool area and a warming kitchen. 972-744-7850 (Heights Recreation Center), 972-744-7881 (Huffhines Recreation Center). www.cor.net/departments/parks-recreation/recreation-centers
