Richardson Fire Department opened the new Fire Station 3 on July 15 at 500 W. Lookout Drive. The 13,200-square-foot space, which is located across the street from the station's former building, allows for more trucks, equipment and personnel and includes an outdoor public art piece inspired by a vintage fire hose nozzle, according to a July 17 city newsletter. The new facility was necessitated by increased development and population in the station’s service area, per the newsletter.
