Medical City Dallas has opened its latest emergency department near the Richardson border.

Called Medical City ER Garland, the 11,000-square-foot full-service emergency care facility includes private treatment rooms, a trauma room, a full laboratory and a radiology suite equipped with X-ray and CT imaging. Open 24 hours a day, Medical City ER Garland staff will treat patients of all ages, including pediatric patients, according to a news release.

“This expansion underscores our commitment to the care and improvement of human life by providing critical health care services beyond our main campus and closer to where people work, live and play,” said Jay deVenny, interim CEO of Medical City Dallas, in a statement.

The expansion is part of a more than $1.7 billion initiative by Medical City Healthcare to acquire new buildings, expand, and make upgrades to existing facilities and technology over the next five years, per the release.
