Sales tax revenue is up for the city of Richardson, according to information posted on the state comptroller’s office website.

Acting State Comptroller Kelly Hancock paid the city $5.416 million in sales tax revenue, up 1.15% from the $5.354 million paid during the same time period in 2024.

The year-to-date payment for sales tax revenue is $37.284, 4.26% higher than the $35.760 million paid for the same period in 2024.

Statewide, sales tax revenue totaled $805 million for the month of June, down 4.5% from June 2024.

Texas transit systems sales tax revenue totaled $264.9 million. Counties received $77.4 million and special purpose taxing districts received $127.6 million. In total, sales tax revenue in Texas was $1.3 billion.

Sales tax is the largest source of funding for the state budget and makes up approximately 58% of all taxes collected in the state. A majority of sales tax revenue for June is based on sales made in May.
