Sales tax revenue is down for the city of Richardson, according to information posted on the state comptroller's office website.

Hegar paid the city $3.495 million, down 11.47% from the $3.948 million paid during the same time period in 2024.

The year-to-date payment for sales tax revenue is $19,149 million, 7.45% higher than the $17,820 million paid for the same period in 2024.

Statewide, sales tax revenue totaled $998 million for the month of April, down 3.4% from April 2024.

Sales tax is the largest source of funding for the state budget and makes up approximately 58% of all taxes collected in the state. A majority of sales tax revenue for April is based on sales made in March.
