The Richardson Charter Review Commission is holding a public hearing Jan. 30 to hear input from residents regarding amendments to the city’s charter.

The details

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the city council chamber, located at 2360 Campbell Creek Blvd., Ste. 525. The commission, consisting of 11 members, is a temporary advisory group established every 10 years to review and recommend changes to the city’s governing charter.

Those we are unable to attend in person can submit comments or feedback online. The current city charter can be found on the city’s website.

Some context

Richardson voters first established a charter in 1956, according to the city’s website. It has been amended four times, with the most recent being 2015. The committee will recommend changes to City Council and council members will decide whether to call an election. If an election is called, voters will approve any amendments.
