The upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. Day is set to impact the opening of a number of Richardson facilities, along with the city’s trash and recycling collection.

What you need to know

According to a city news release, there will be no trash, recycling, or bulky and brush item collection services on Jan. 15. While there are no planned makeup days for trash or bulky and brush collection, recycling services will be made up the following day.

What else?

The following city facilities will be closed on Jan. 15:
  • Richardson Animal Shelter
  • Temporary City Hall facility
  • Charles W. Eisemann Center
  • Municipal Court
  • Richardson Innovation Quarter Headquarters
  • Richardson Service Center
The Richardson Gymnastics Center, Senior Center, Tennis Center and the Sherrill Park Golf Course will remain open during the holiday.
