Richardson announced it is modifying city services and facility hours in accordance with the Independence Day holiday.

According to a release, Richardson will not be operating its solid waste, recycling, or brush and bulky item collection services July 4. No makeup days for trash collection or brush collection are scheduled to occur, but recycling for July 4-5 will be made up the following day, respectively.

In addition, Richardson is closing or modifying opening hours for many of its city facilities.

The city is closing nine facilities for the holidays: the Richardson Animal Shelter, Richardson City Hall, the Charles W. Eisemann Center, the Gymnastics Center, the Richardson Public Library, the Municipal Court, the Heights and Huffhines recreation centers, and the Richardson Senior Center.

In addition, the Canyon Creek neighborhood pool will be closed July 4. The Cottonwood, Glenville and Terrace neighborhood pools will each close at 5 p.m. on the holiday.


Sherrill Park Golf Course will remain open July 4, and the city's Tennis Center will operate from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
