Dec. 24: Tour a carnivorous plant gallery

Usually only open by appointment, Texas Triffid Ranch is open to the public for its final Nightmare Weekend Before Christmas event of the year. Trivia Tuesday at Guitars and Growlers takes place each week in Richardson. Using one smart device, teams work to answer a variety of trivia questions. Dec. 29 through Jan. 16: Watch a murder mystery

Dallas’ Pegasus Theatre presents the play, “Prime Time for Murder” at the Eisemann Center. Dec. 31: Ring in 2022 with live music

The Ally Venable Band presents an evening of blues, rock, Americana and more with special guests Solshifter, BullCorn and Tony Ramey. Venable released her fourth album, “Heart of Fire” in March. Jan. 10: Learn calligraphy

This workshop offers an introduction to modern calligraphy with a pointed dip pen and ink. Participants get to keep a beginner calligraphy kit and the materials to write on. After taking a year off in 2021 due to concerns stemming from the pandemic, the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo is back.
