Richardson ISD Board of Trustees will have two contested races to decide on when the election is held in May.

With the filing period closed, District 2 and District 5 incumbents will have challengers while the District 4 incumbent is running unopposed.

Up for election

In total, three districts are up for election but District 4 Board Member Regina Harris is running unopposed. In District 2, incumbent Vanessa Pacheco faces two challengers in Elaine Bonavita and Pamela Hughes.

In District 5, incumbent Rachel McGowen will face Christina Angelina Neria.

The board of trustees approved a resolution calling the election in January. Early voting will take place with other city and county elections May 3. Early voting for Richardson residents in both Collin and Dallas County will begin April 22 through April 25 between 8 p.m. and 5 p.m.; April 26 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; April 27 from noon to 6 p.m.; and April 28 and April 29 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

If needed, a runoff election will be held June 7.
