With all precincts in Rockwall and Collin counties reporting, Katrina Pierson won the Republican runoff race for Texas House District 33.
The former Trump campaign spokesperson received nearly 56.4% of the votes cast, according to unofficial results. Incumbent Justin Holland, who has represented the district since 2017, received around 43.6% of the votes.
Since no Democrats ran for the position, Pierson is the presumptive winner of the November general elections.

With all precincts in Collin County reporting, Katrina Pierson maintains her lead over incumbent Justin Holland in the Republican runoff for Texas House District 33.
So far, Pierson has received more than 10,000 votes, or about 56%, in Rockwall and Collin counties, according to unofficial results.

With results continuing to come in, Katrina Pierson continues to maintain her lead over incumbent Justin Holland in the runoff race for Texas House District 33.
Overall, Pierson has received a little more than 56% of the ballots cast in Rockwall and Collin counties. In Collin County, 15 out of 38 precincts have posted unofficial results. Rockwall County is only reporting unofficial early voting totals.
Since no Democrats ran for the position, the winner of the race will also be the presumptive winner of the November general elections.

In the runoff race for Texas House District 33, challenger Katrina Pierson is leading over incumbent Justin Holland with nearly 54% of early votes, though only Rockwall County is reporting unofficial results.
In the primary race for the district, which encompasses Rockwall and parts of Collin County, Holland faced Pierson and Dennis London.
Since no Democrats ran for the position, the winner of the race will also be the presumptive winner of the November general election.
What you need to know
Holland has represented the district since 2017 but has faced recent criticism from fellow Texas Republicans.
In early March, Gov. Greg Abbott endorsed Pierson, a former spokesperson for the 2016 Donald Trump presidential campaign, in a news release that said Pierson would support the school voucher proposal pushed by the governor. Holland voted against the measure.
In addition, the Rockwall County chapter of the Republican Party denounced Holland in a January social media post over his votes in the most recent legislative session to increase the age of purchasing an assault rifle and voting to impeach Attorney General Ken Paxton among other things.
State House representatives serve two-year terms.
What else?
In early voting, there were 11,421 ballots cast in Rockwall County, which represents more than 13% of the county's 84,000 voters. In Collin County, about 2.7% of voters cast a ballot during early voting.
Totals from ballots cast May 28 have yet to be released. Polls closed at 7 p.m., although voters who were in line at 7 p.m. were still able to cast ballots.
