The University of Texas board of regents named Moghe president May 30 and he will begin in the role Aug. 2.
Moghe was announced as sole finalist May 7 but the board is required by state law to wait 21 days before officially appointing him.
What else
Moghe has a background in chemical and bioengineering and previously served as the executive vice president for academic affairs at Rutgers University. During his time at Rutgers, he has helped increase research funding by 40%, according to a May 7 news release.
