Ground has broken on the third building for the Naveen Jindal School of Management at The University of Texas at Dallas.

The university hosted a groundbreaking ceremony Oct. 8, which symbolizes the start of an 18-month construction project that will add additional facilities for the Jindal School of Management.

The big picture

The latest project is expected to cost around $100 million, said Hasan Pirkul, dean of the Naveen Jindal School of Management. The new 125,000-square-foot building will connect to the existing two for the school and serve as a hub for the management school’s undergraduate students, Pirkul added.

Based on university enrollment data, there are more than 10,200 students within the Jindal School of Management.

The additional space within the third building should make hosting events on campus easier, in addition to providing new classroom and office facilities within the management school, said Pirkul.

“We are having difficulty carrying out our day-to-day operations in the two buildings we have,” Pirkul said. “We just have too much going on.”

The details

Pirkul said the new building will include:
  • New classrooms
  • Additional meeting spaces
  • New faculty and staff offices
“We are big in supporting students and orgs, because that's where they really own their leadership skills, and now we can support them much better and facilitate even more meetings,” Pirkul said. “This will be a really big plus for students.”

Pirkul added that there will be an artificial intelligence lab on-site, which will help students analyze the technology's impact on business processes.

Looking ahead

The third building is expected to be completed in the summer of 2026, Pirkul said.
