Students at The University of Texas at Dallas will soon have a new dining option, entertainment area and access to esports gaming rooms.

The new esports center will have more than 70 computer stations, an entertainment venue for student programming, broadcast and production studios, a competitive gaming arena, two group gaming rooms, and the current training facility for the school’s esports team, said Dan Goodwin, director of Student Union and School Life Programs. He added that a full-service Buffalo Wild Wings will also be added to the area that used to house The Pub within the Student Union.

Goodwin said the facility will mainly be accessible to students at The University of Texas at Dallas, but there are discussions about opportunities to allow access for local school districts, youth camps, nonprofit organizations and esports tournaments. Once construction is completed in December, the addition will occupy two stories and 15,000 square feet of space.
