Richardson ISD schools and offices will be closed Feb. 2 due to the ongoing inclement weather and hazardous travel conditions.

The closure includes all games, activities and events for Feb. 2, in addition to the xPlore after-school programs, according to district officials. A decision regarding reopening school on Feb. 3 will be made by the superintendent's office after evaluating campus and travel conditions.

RISD has been closed since Jan. 31 after an initial winter storm warning was issued throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The forecast, now an ice storm warning, is projected to last through Feb. 2, according to the National Weather Service.

Residents can check the district's homepage, Facebook page or Twitter feed for more information and updates on closures.

Snow makeup day information will be shared at an early spring RISD board of trustees meeting, according to officials.
