The scholarships will be awarded based on students’ scholastic achievements, financial needs, extracurricular activities and community volunteer work. Applicants will also be required to write a short essay.

The scholarship, which can be used at any two- or four-year college or university, must be used for the upcoming 2020-21 school year. Five to ten scholarships will be awarded, according to the nonprofit.

Altrusa International is dedicated to making communities better through leadership, partnership and service, according to their website.
