A new Nigerian fusion restaurant, The Icon Restaurant and Lounge, is now open in Richardson.

Executive Chef Brian Carter said the restaurant’s menu includes Nigerian dishes, such as a seafood okra soup and pepper soup, both of which are served with fufu—a boiled, dumpling-like side dish made from starchy foods and served alongside soups or stews. There are also several American dishes infused with Nigerian flavors, including lamb chops and whole snapper.

The restaurant’s grand opening is planned for March 13, Carter said.
