A new cafe named after the classic Middle-Eastern folk tale, Aladdin Cafe is now open in Richardson.

The business seeks to introduce authentic Mediterranean culture to its patrons, owner Mezr Murad said. The cafe serves several types of teas designed and mixed in house along with coffees made from beans imported from Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

Murad said the cafe is operating with a limited menu featuring sandwiches, breakfast, pastries and Turkish-style baked potatoes, but there are plans to continue growing the menu in the future. Aladdin Cafe also offers coffee heated on sand, according to its website.
