More new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Dallas County in the last seven days than in any single week of the pandemic.
Dallas County reported 1,885 new confirmed cases from June 2-8, exceeding the previous peak of 1,753 over a seven-day period in early May.
Daily case counts spent much of the last month in decline from their previous highs, but Dallas County officials have observed a steady increase since May 26.
