In the second and third week of April, newly reported cases of the new coronavirus in Collin County began to decline, reaching a low point for the month of 91 cases reported in the period of a week. Since then, cases have gradually increased to 133 cases reported between April 30-May 6.

On May 6, the county reported 11 new cases of the virus. Collin County also reported a total of 839 positive cases, with 260 of those being active cases.

Richardson residents make up 17 of the total cases, according to the county's online dashboard.

557 people have successfully recovered from the coronavirus in Collin County. Of the active cases, 25 are hospitalized and 235 remain in home isolation.

There have been 22 confirmed deaths of people who had tested positive for COVID-19 in Collin County.


There have been 8,656 negative COVID-19 tests in Collin County and 1,334 people are being monitored for the virus.
