As of April 24, 49 of the total confirmed cases were reported among residents from the Dallas County portion of Richardson.
Five more people died from the virus over the weekend, according to a county news release. The deceased patients include four men and one woman, all over the age of 50.
So far, 82 people have died from the virus in Dallas County. About 40% of the total deaths were associated with long-term care facilities, the release stated.
