In her new role, Bono will work with local school districts, institutions of higher education and tech companies to promote science, technology engineering and math experiences and careers, according to a March 8 press release. Tech Titans routinely works on expanding these opportunities as a means to increase the quality of students’ learning and to produce talent in the local economy.
“Jean brings a wealth of expertise and connections to the role, and we are excited to have her on the team,” Amy Wheelus, chair of the Tech Titans board, said in a statement. “She will be critical to building a STEM workforce that will benefit North Texas technology companies for years to come.”
Bono previously served on the Richardson ISD board of trustees for six years. Additionally, she is a former executive in corporate investor relations and served as president for the local chapters of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute and National Investor Relations Institute.
Tech Titans is a local nonprofit technology trade organization that promotes the North Texas technology ecosystem, according to its website. Its goals include engaging the regional technology community to collaborate, share and inspire creative thinking to fuel tomorrow’s innovations, according to a press release.
