Dallas-based CyrusOne is planning to spend nearly $80 million to refit a Richardson building for a new data center.

The data center operator plans to spend an estimated $79.8 million to modify the current building to suit its needs, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The filing also states that no additional space is expected to be added to the 125,115-square-foot structure.

Based on the preliminary project timeline included in the documents filed with the state, construction is planned to start in mid-June and conclude around mid-April 2025.

CyrusOne did not respond to questions about if it plans to hire additional personnel for the planned data center prior to publication.
