Improvements to the second course at Sherrill Park Golf Course are underway in Richardson, according to a city news release.

The renovations taking place at the course include landscaping in the tee areas and sod removal from both tee areas and greens, which began last week, per the news release. The course was last updated in 2001.

Further renovations include addressing drainage issues and making improvements to the course aesthetics and turf, according to the release. The scope of the course’s update was expanded last year to also include the construction of a new pump house and renovation of the restrooms.

Council received an update on the project last December, shortly before renovations were scheduled to begin. Last year, Sherrill Park Golf Course celebrated its 50th anniversary.


The course’s renovations will cost $9 million and is funded through the issuance of certificates of obligation.
