Saddle up for a celebration of Western heritage and culture that will benefit local school programs at the inaugural Rodeo Celina.

Tickets are now on sale for the rodeo event held May 31 and June 1-2, according to a Jan. 23 news release. Hosted by the Greater Celina Chamber Foundation, the event will be held at Southfork Ranch in Parker. Rodeo Celina is sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.

“Launching a rodeo is not about the arena we lack, but the spirit we harness,” said Caleb Lavey, Great Celina Chamber Foundation board member and Rodeo Celina Executive Committee member. “Let’s ride toward our dreams, dust off doubts and raise funds for our youth, and start turning our vision into an arena in Celina where champions are born.”

The overview

The rodeo will include events, such as bull riding, barrel racing, roping and more. Along with the rodeo, the event will serve as a large-scale community celebration, the release states.

A portion of the event’s proceeds will be donated to the Celina ISD Agriculture Department and the Celina Future Farmers of America.
