The specialty outdoor retailer announced it was opening a new 23,848 square-foot store at The Gates of Prosper. REI offers an assortment of apparel and gear for camping, hiking, cycling, climbing, run and fitness and more. The new store will also feature a full-service bike shop.

The 26,000-square-foot store will feature the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, Inc. The store offers customers up to 70% off on apparel, accessories, beauty products, home decor and shoes from the top brands sold at Nordstrom stores, the release stated.

The incoming Costco Wholesale store in Prosper will open in March 2025, according to the company’s website. Located along US 380 in Prosper, the new Costco location will also feature a fuel station, according to documents filed with the state.

Construction on Prosper's first H-E-B grocery store is underway. H-E-B representatives, town officials and various community members celebrated the start of construction at a groundbreaking ceremony in April.

6. Costco Wholesale
The big-box store will be located in the new The Crossing and Moore Farm. Developers are hoping to open the new store “by the end of next year,” SHOP Companies partner Jack Weir said Dec. 26. SHOP Companies is the entity overseeing the leasing of The Crossing at Moore Farm, a large-scale mixed-use development that includes the Costco as well as an incoming Lowes and multiple other businesses.

The facility is planned to total 105,000 square feet. Under a Celina City Council agreement, the company will be required to obtain a certificate of occupancy by July 31, 2026 and must be operating by August 31, 2026. The Home Depot will be located on the northwest corner of Ownsby Parkway and Preston Road adjacent to the Costco currently under construction.

The restaurant serves specialty tacos, burritos and queso as well as salads and breakfast tacos. Torchy’s Tacos will also offers margaritas and other signature drinks. An opening date is unknown at this time and a company representative did not respond to a request for comments; however, per the filing, construction is expected to begin in early 2025 and wrap up during the summer.

Lowe’s is a home improvement goods store that sells tools, appliances and more.
The Lowe’s will be built on a roughly 14-acre site inside the Crossing at Moore Farm, a master-planned hub that will soon include a Costco. The Lowe’s store is 94,000 square feet, according to meeting documents.

Along with coffee, the shop will serve tea, smoothies and other specialty drinks. Black Rock will be part of The Crossing at Moore Farms, a 77-acre mixed use development that will include several other restaurants and retail stores. A company representative said it will open next year.
