Two more mosquito traps in Plano have returned positive results for the West Nile virus, according to a city news release.
Weather permitting, the city will spray areas near the traps beginning 9 p.m. Thursday.
One of the areas to be sprayed is bordered by Eldorado Drive, Mapleshade Lane, Ohio Drive and Coit Road. The other is bordered by Greenfield Drive, Colmar Drive, Red River Drive and Alma Drive.
The city has asked residents to ensure children and pets remain indoors during the time of the spraying.
In order to prevent the spread of West Nile virus, the city also urged residents to drain standing water in or around their homes, dress appropriately before going outdoors, and wear bug spray containing DEET.
