Plano’s Arbor Hills Nature Preserve will undergo a planned burning starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to a news release from the city.
The news release cited the need to rid a build-up of thatch in the nature preserve that has prevented plants and grasses from being able to properly reproduce. The burn will also serve as a training opportunity for both the city’s wildland firefighters, the release said.
The park will remain open during the burn, but a trail on the west side of the nature preserve will be closed.
