The North Texas Food Bank is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Its mission, according to its website, is "to close the hunger gap in North Texas by providing access to nutritious food." About 95% of its resources go toward hunger relief efforts, its website states. The North Texas Food Bank reported delivering more than 136.9 million meals and more than 32 million pounds of fresh produce in fiscal year 2021-22. The North Texas Food Bank Perot Family Campus is located at 3677 Mapleshade Lane in Plano. Its service area covers 13 counties, including Collin, Dallas and Denton counties.
