Plano drivers can expect various lane closures through the weekend along a few of the city's arterial roadways as repair projects to these streets continue. Motorists are urged to be alert and patient while traveling through these areas.
Here are some lane closures to be aware of over the next few days:
Parker Road repairs: Lane closures are taking place along Parker Road between Coit and Mission Ridge roads for concrete repairs in the east- and westbound lanes which will take place from Coit to Custer roads. This repair project also includes similar repairs along Plano Parkway from Los Rios Boulevard to Jupiter Road, which will begin once the repairs along Parker Road are complete.
Independence Parkway repairs: A similar repair project on Independence Parkway is on schedule and is expected to be complete in January. Lane closures are taking place from Plano Parkway to West 15th Street and from Cross Bend to Parker roads. Construction crews will meet in the middle between 15th Street and West Parker Road, where a new, more flexible type of ultrathin asphalt will be applied to extend the life of the roadway.
