Chilangos Tacos expects to open Nov. 24 and will offer street food-style tacos, quesadillas and sides, including its signature Las Costras Taco, which is prepared with grilled Monterey Jack cheese melted directly on the grill and filled with protein. Other menu favorites from Chilangos Tacos include the Al Pastor Costra and Birria Tacos, according to co-founders Jon Garay and chef Joel Mendoza, who worked together in restaurants in Mexico City before coming to North Texas.
The two opened the Dallas location of Chilangos Tacos in 2019 and look forward to growing into the Plano area, according to a Nov. 23 press release.
“Since opening our Harry Hines [Dallas] location, we’ve seen taco enthusiasts from Oklahoma, Celina and beyond driving to try our tacos,” Garay said in the release. “When the opportunity to open at Legacy Hall came to the table, it felt like the perfect match. Geographically, it targets the growth that we were planning for the next five years, and we feel we can fulfill a need for Mexico City-style tacos in the area.”
