Ahead of the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays, Plano staff posted an update about impacts to services and closures to city facilities.

Trash and recycling pickups scheduled for Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1 will be pushed back by one day, per the announcement.

The overview

The Household Chemical Reuse Center will not have any closures for the holidays, while the Interurban Railway Museum will only be closed Dec. 23. All four Plano recreation centers will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 24 and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 26.

The High Point Tennis Center will also be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 24, while the Plano Aquatic Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 24 and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 26. The Sam Johnson Recreation Center, which is for adults age 50 or older, will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 26.


The following facilities will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1:
  • Texas Pure Products Regional Composting Facility
  • Sam Johnson Recreation Center
  • Plano Aquatic Center
  • Pecan Hollow Golf Course
  • High Point Tennis Center
  • Carpenter, Liberty, Oak Point and Tom Muehlenbeck recreation centers
What else?

The Davis, Haggard, Harrington and Parr public libraries will be closed from Dec. 24-26 and Jan. 1, while the Day Labor Center will be closed Dec. 23-26 and Jan. 1. The Plano Animal Shelter will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1.

The following facilities will be closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1:
  • Plano Municipal Center
  • Texas Pure Products Custer Road Facility
  • The Nature and Retreat Center at Oak Point Park
