Several city of Plano facilities have announced closures Nov. 23 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, according to a news release.

What you need to know

Trash and recycling collection scheduled for Nov. 23 will be collected Nov. 24. All other trash and recycling collection will proceed as scheduled.

All five Plano library locations will be closing at 5 p.m. Nov. 22 ahead of scheduled closures later in the week. The Day Labor Center will be closed Nov. 23-25.

Most city facilities have announced closures only on Nov. 23:
  • Carpenter Park, Oak Point, Liberty and Tom Muehlenbeck recreation centers
  • High Point Tennis Center
  • Household Chemical Reuse Center
  • Interurban Railway Museum
  • The Nature and Retreat Center at Oak Point
  • Pecan Hollow Golf Course
  • Plano Aquatic Center
  • Sam Johnson Recreation Center for Adults 50+
A few facilities will be closed Nov. 23-24:
  • Texas Pure Products Regional Composting Site & Custer Road Facility
  • The Davis, Haggard, Harrington, Parr and Schimelpfenig public libraries
  • Plano Municipal Center offices
  • Plano Animal Shelter
