From holiday lights to New Year’s parties, there are plenty of things for residents to do this month in Plano.

Deerfield Holiday Lights 2023

Plano residents can experience the Deerfield Holiday Lights display throughout December. Features include the dancing Santas, millions of twinkling lights, and larger-than-life displays. Event organizers recommend visiting Deerfield on less busy nights during the week. Lines on the weekends can be hours long. The neighborhood does not have public restrooms.Scrooge, The Musical

Officials with North Texas Performing Arts are putting on a fast-paced and fun, full-length, live musical production of Scrooge, a musical adapted from Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol.” The cast features Plano resident Darrell Rodenbaugh in a reprise in his 13th year and 112th appearance as North Texas’s Scrooge.

Holiday Mixology Class

Trade Day at Southfork Ranch

Trade Days is a monthly event featuring over 300 different booths with local artisans selling and showing their goods, such as hand crafted jewelry, furniture, candles and charcuterie boards, among others. The event will also have food vendors, antiques, axe throwing, a blacksmith, a psychic and other entertainment.

New Years Eve Party: Love & War

Plano residents can attend a New Year's Eve celebration at ranch house diner Love & War in Texas with band Turnpike Tributedours, a cover band of country music band Turnpike Troubadours. Fowling Warehouse DFW is hosting a New Year’s Eve party for Plano residents. Fowling is a warehouse facility for a game that combines football and bowling. The event will feature music, dancing, champagne toasts, party favors, blackjack, roulette, a photo booth, a DJ and a balloon drop at midnight. There will also be a full bar and specialty priced appetizers.January


Hot Cake Hustle

This family-friendly event will feature a 10K, 5K, Fun Run and Virtual Run through trails in the Plano Oak Point Nature Preserve. Upon finishing the run, attendees can enjoy an after-party that will have hotcakes, coffee, hot chocolate, food and ice cold beer.'Here Lies Jeremy Troy'

Plano residents can catch a production of “Here Lies Jeremy Troy” at Rover Dramawerks. The play focuses on Jeremy, who is on the brink of a partnership at the law firm where he works but he’s never been to law school. Jeremy’s old artist friend Charlie discovers his secret and blackmails Jeremy. Then Jeremy’s wife mistakes Tina the model for a “friend” of her husband’s and leaves as Jeremy’s boss is coming for dinner, leaving Tina and the men to improvise in the middle of a blizzard.Markets at Assembly Park

Markets By Missy is hosting an event that brings together local food, artisan crafts and community spirit. The event will feature food trucks serving an array of gourmet burgers and exotic international cuisine, and vendors serving farm-fresh produce, including organic fruits and vegetables, honey, jams and freshly baked bread. Attendees can also stroll through a marketplace filled with unique, handcrafted goods from jewelry and clothing to home decor and art pieces created by artisans from the community. The event is family-friendly with face painting, games and interactive experiences.
