Registration is open for Plano ISD’s elementary after-school care program, known as PASAR, with limited enrollment for the 2022-23 school year.

The after-school care program is for children in pre-K through fifth grade. The program is currently operating with lower caregiver-to-child ratios, resulting in the need to limit enrollment at PASAR sites, according to a district release.

When registering, if a child’s school site is at capacity, which will be listed as full or temporarily closed, parents can register to be put on a waitlist.

“Full means the site has reached maximum enrollment due to staff-child ratios,” a PISD news release states.”Temporarily closed means enrollment has not reached the required 18 students in order to open the PASAR site. Not open means the site is not open due to staffing shortages.”

If space becomes available, a program staff member will reach out via email to offer people on the waitlist a spot. Parents will have the option to accept or decline.

The registration link for PASAR can be found here.

In addition, the district is hiring staff for the program to accommodate additional student enrollment. People interested in applying can find information here.
